June 2023 Update
The next club meeting is not far away on 1st June starting at 7:30pm at the Polish White Eagle Club (28 David St, Turner). You’ll all have a few brews getting prepared for the club competition, so don’t forget to bring a couple of them along to the next club meeting and get some early feedback.
The education session this month will involve Kurtz going fathoms-deep into his knowledge base to help you understand the main ingredient in your beer… water.
Full details of the club meeting are here
2023 Club Competition
The first comp of 2023 is on Saturday 17 June at the Polo Club in O’Connor. Please go to here to enter ($6 per entry) and register to judge or steward or generally lend a hand on the day (or days leading up to it). While we need to have a bit of structure around the day, if you are new to Club or haven’t been involved in the comps before, please give it a go – it’s a fun day. Stewarding is a good way to test the waters as well as taste the beers, and if you are new to judging, we’ll be sure to put you on a table where you can learn from others in a friendly, supportive manner.
Contact Nicole or Ed through firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
International Homebrew Day – success!
A big thanks to all those who brewed, assisted and stopped by for the IHBD. Special mention to our sponsor Mashematics for the ingredients, and club member Frank Mitchell from INK Printing for the flyers and Stickers.
The “Nearly Nirvana” IPAs that were brewed will be showcased at the August meeting. Photo’s from the event can be viewed here.
Finally, a friendly reminder that membership fees will be due soon for the next year. The committee is committed to finding ways to improve and bring our members a more streamlined experience. This is a work in progress and we hope to have more details soon.
