September Meeting

Water was on the minds of everyone this month after Dr Peter Aldred from the University of Ballarat visited the club as guest speaker and gave an in depth talk on the importance of this important ingredient in everyone’s favourite drink.

Not since Cougar gave his talk about how he got to where he is today had the club been so quiet, questions were fired at Dr Aldred who had an answer to everything and spoke keeping everyone captivated and amused at the same time.

Also available on the night to compliment the talks was a Brewer’s Showcase with the same beer brewed using different water styles.

This month also had a last minute change of venue to the Canberra Club to ensure everyone could fit in but it also allowed a much better room with everyone able to be seated and the use of a slideshow with detailed statistics on everything H2O.

As normal the raffles were held and although the talk went for quite a while (but well appreciated by everyone!) there was also ample time for the usual social catch-ups.
