5th September 2018 – 7:30 pm
Stu Whytcross of Voyager Craft Malt fame is back this month to take us through a malt sensory evaluation process using a hot steeping method. Stu will also give us a rundown on all the exciting things happening at Voyager. Stu’s had a long association with the club and his presentations are always popular so make sure you get to Gorman House at 7.30pm to hear from this local legend.
Make sure you check out the library account. Visit: https://canberrabrewers.librarika.com/ and check out some great resources and reserve a book or two to read over the next month. You can reserve a copy of something and we’ll deliver it at the meeting. If the book is on loan, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll arrange it to be brought back for you to borrow. Don’t have access to the library? Email us and we’ll hook you up.

2018 ACT Amateur Brewing Championship
Entries have now closed for the 2018 ACT Amateur Brewing Championship, to be held 8 and 9 Sept at John James.
A very strong 276 entries, from 32 brewers, an increase from last year but not quite a record.
But we are seriously short of the number of volunteers we need to judge and steward in order to actually run the competition well. (A big thanks for the members who have already volunteered.)
Please!! Club members, if you have a morning or an afternoon(or both) one either(or both) Saturday 8 or Sunday 9 Sept(next weekend), help out.
You don’t need to be experienced – stewarding is an easy entry into competitions – and everyone who has done the club supported BJCP course has all the skills needed to judge, paired up with experienced judges.
This is an important event for the club – one of the big ones for the year – and it it’s a great opportunity for members to support their club.
Go to the ‘Call for Judges and Stewards thread’ and put your name down!
The Committee looks forward to your support!
You know you have some good beer for the ACT Comp in September, bottle a few extra and join the six-pack swap this month.

To further your chances of winning that weekend away is to bring beer to the meeting. Your committee will be awarding additional entries in the annual N.O.O.K.I.E. raffle to brewers who bring beer to meetings.
Brewers who bring at least 750mls of beer will receive 1 N.O.O.K.I.E. entry and brewers who bring a keg will receive 3 N.O.O.K.I.E. entries.
Brewers can claim their N.O.O.K.I.E. entries from the raffle table when tickets are being sold on the night.
