Canberra Brewers Monthly Club Meeting – June 2022
June 2 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm UTC+10
The Canberra Brewers Club thrives on its monthly club meetings – where members congregate, share beer and talk brewing. It is where the Committee provides updates regarding Club activities and conducts education sessions.
Primary elements of Club Meetings are as follows;
Bring your best, in bottles, growlers or kegs to share – remember they earn NOOKIE points for the annual prize draw. And don’t forget the 6-pack swap as described below.
Kegs are highly encouraged wherever possible, as the club provides miracle boxes for serving from kegs and member contribution is welcomed. Beer gas is provided by the club – members need only bring the keg itself.
The Polish Club
The White Eagle Polish Restaurant presently offers its hall to the Canberra Brewers. A homely and warm atmosphere, the White Eagle Polish Club is a perfect venue for the Canberra Brewers; additionally, the club includes an onsite restaurant, serving excellent Polish cuisine. Please support our hosts by buying an interesting imported commercial beer or two from their well-stocked bar.
Buy tickets in the monthly raffle for a chance to win great prizes and earn NOOKIE points for the big annual prize draw.
The Committee’s Education Sessions are focused on educating members on brewing aspects, whether they be beginner-level or more complex. Each month’s club meeting comprises an education session which aims to educate or inspire insight into the world of craft brewing.
The Committee provides updates on club movements – including upcoming events, developments in activities undertaken by the Club, and more.
One of the great things about club meetings is getting to sample a variety of other brewers’ handiwork. But if you’re the designated driver, or travelling on your own, you miss out on really experiencing some good beers. Esteemed club member Dave Johnson wondered – how good would it be to have a sample of other beers to take home and enjoy over the following months. So what about a six pack swap ?
Basically, if there’s enough interest, we just need six (or more) willing contributors to each bring six bottles of anything you’ve recently brewed. Members pool their beers and everyone who contributes gets to take home a mixed six pack.
The six-pack swap operates during each club meeting, however for meeting-specific updates, be sure to check the General Chat section for posts on the forum.
Consider the Safety of Your Community
Please remember that despite relaxed rules, COVID-19 remains a point of caution. If you have symptoms, get tested, and if you or a close contact has recently tested positive for COVID, please do the right thing by the club and play it safe by staying at home.
And of course, please drink responsibly and make appropriate transport arrangements. Many members take public transport or taxi services to the monthly club meetings and the Club encourages members to ask around via social media or the forum to arrange carpools – this reduces travel costs for our members.
